Who founded sellersburg indiana?

Part of the surrounding Louisville metropolitan area, the city is not isolated. The city of Sellersburg was established in the early 19th century and was named after its founder, Moses Sellers. I grew up in the Sellersburg area and heard about the incident throughout my life and the warning “don't let the sun go down on you.” I don't know any black person or family who has lived in Sellersburg or around Silver Creek Township. The first Sellersburg Post Office was established in 1854, at which time the name was spelled Sellersburgh.

The Sellersburg incident involved the lynching of a black man for allegedly raping a white woman in February 1883. The city of Sellersburg is a city located in the Township of Silver Creek, Clark County, Indiana (United States).
